Birth of Comment Seeker
As a public participation professional, I have managed thousands upon thousands of public comments for my clients over the past 20 years. I've experimented with different types of software and even customized database programs to find a workable method for inputting data and creating meaningful reports.

When a major project came along in 2005, I found myself with 4,000 comments in a matter of months, various software programs not talking to each other, and spending hours and hours of coding and interpreting data. I knew there had to be a better way for those of us who seek public comment.

After working very closely with software developers, and with the input of peers in the public particpation field, I am happy to announce the arrival of Comment Seeker.

What is Comment Seeker?
Comment Seeker is a subscription service customized for public participation professionals and the challenges they face in collecting, analyzing and reporting public comment. Comments can be tracked from multiple projects and from multiple phases of each project.

Create Online Comment Forms FAST!
The Comment Seeker form wizard guides subscribers through the creation of custom forms. Features include one-button conversion to html format -- so your webmaster can quickly upload the new file -- and simultaneous creation of the database to store user responses.

Collect Comments in Single Database
No matter the method of receiving comment -- written, telephone, e-mail or online -- all comments are entered into a single database. Comments can be assigned to an event from which they were received. Long letters, documents and other non-traditional forms of comment can be scanned and attached.

Design Custom Reports
Use key words, phrases, and demographics to sort comments. Run trending analysis across phases of a project or multiple projects. Attach documents submitted by the public to their comments for easier report preparation.

Manage and E-mail Contacts
Sort contact information as desired and send e-mails to all or subgroups of your project contacts through Comment Seeker. E-mail lists also can be exported for use in other e-mail programs.

Track public involvement and project activities
Create multiple events to track meetings, newsletter distributions, advertising dates and much more. Attach electronic versions of public notices, newsletters and other project information for easier reporting.
